Dear Alicia,
You will need to visit the county clerk (or your state's equivalent) with your fiance to obtain a marriage license. Both of you will need to take your driver's license, and a birth certificate or your social security card. The license cost varies from state to state, but you will be charged a fee for that. The clerk will fill out all the paperwork with you and you will leave with a marriage license that must be used within a certain amount of time (again, it varies from state to state), or you will have to obtain another one.
Good luck to you!!

Go, with fiance, to the courthouse and get a marriage license. There is generally a particular period during which it is valid, such as from three to thirty days after issuance. At the ceremony, give the license paper to the officiant, who will sign it and return it to the records office.
The bigger problems come later. If you change your name, you will need to notify your bank, your creditors, the DMV, and the Social Security office, as well as get a new passport (if you need one).
