Nope, if you don't respect someone you can't treat them in a respectful and dignified way...love requires them, they are what keeps you from doing or saying things that can never be fixed when times are rough or there is an argument. Besides if you keep hanging around someone you have no respect for as a person it will turn to disgust and resentment...the one thing it will never turn in to is love.

Without a doubt. You can love someone more than anything in the world but not respect the things that they say or do. You can love someone and not respect their choices in life.

No way can you love someone you do not respect. Respect is part of love. You need to be able to look at the person and not only love them, but like them as a person. If you don't respect the person you cannot like them. When the first excitement of love begins to fade to a warm, comfortable feeling you need to be able to like the person, too.

Yes, Sammy, you can love someone you don't like, don't trust and don't respect. We all have these romantic notions about love but it really becomes a mater of integrity. The question is, would you be willing to spend time with someone you loved but didn't respect?

U can respect someone whom u don't love but it's hard to love someone u can't respect.

I think so but eventually the relationship wont work out. Without respect its hard to keep the love.

I guess, but probably isn't going to be a healthy relationship. I think that whatever the reason is causing you not to respect the person will keep coming up causing ill feelings.

Very good question. Not normally. BUT the human mind is capable of doing incredible things such as believing something in spite of clear, conclusive evidence to the contrary. So, I'd have to say it's certainly possible.
