John McCain proposed a policy known as the "rogue state rollback", in which the US arms, equips, and supports forces that will overthrow rogue governments and set up democratically elected ones. The idea is to keep US troops out of danger

Isn't this how the whole problem with al Qaeda and the Taliban got started in the first place?

Yes, al Qaeda, Taliban and....

Cuba (we supported Castro while he overthew that government)
Iraq (we supported Hussein's coup)
Iran (we supported the ruthless Shaw that was in there before Komani)
Chile (Kissinger helped overthrow a democratically elected leader.... I forget the details)
Osoma Bin Laden (when the Soviet Union invaded Afganisatn)
And numerous clandestine instances of arming and training a lot of the same people we now consider enemies.
And alot of pitting one side against another and arming BOTH sides.
Just to name a few...... and people wonder why airplanes are flown into our buildings..... go figure

People here won't accept the idea that we will NEVER be able to completely protect ourselves from terrorism... no matter how much time and money is spent. If we continue to invest financially (and other ways) at an ever increasing rate to keep up with the ever increasing threats... our government will do to this country (with terrorism) what the Soviet Union did with the arms race..... that is they will spend our country into an oblivion which will collaps our financial structure completely and could be, just as in the S.U., the END of the U.S. The only sensible answer is to remove the REASON the U.S. is a target rather than fight the results of being that target. And until we, as a nation, are willing to look at ourselves objectively and learn that just because we are powerful enough TO bully that doesn't mean we SHOULD bully. And now we're trying to tell the world who can and who cannot have nukes.... Who are WE to tell THEM what they can/cannot have? If you lived in one of the countries that wants nukes, wouldn't you want them? The U.S. doesn't mess with countries that have nukes. Maybe EVERYONE should have nukes. Now there's a thought.

The Taliban had Toyota pickup trucks bought by Yomomma bin-Ladin's al-Quaeda franchise who had plenty of Saudi money. John McCain is a liberal troublemaker.

The Mujahadeen was the group that fought the Soviets until they fell.

Sort of - but you have to recognize that the Taliban and Al-Qaeda are very specialized cases (due to their so-called "religous beliefs").
