I am 39 yr old female. I live across the street from my mom. She is 74 and in poor condition. She is getting older and weaker. She uses an electric chair most of the day. I think she could regain some strength in her legs if she would try harder. She also lives with my handicapped sister which is 41. My sister has never been able to walk or talk(although she can make noises out of her mouth) and she has no motor control over her body. So she has to be fed and her diaper changed. Along with my mom which has an incontinence problem as well. Well, for several years I go over there on my lunchbreak and help them lay down for a nap and change my sisters diaper. Then after work I go over there to help them to bed. I do have ades coming in the mornings to help some and am in the process of getting as much help as I can for her at home since she doesn't want to leave her home. It just seems I am unhappy a lot and feel overwhelmed then I feel guilty. Any incouragement out there? Thanks!

you shouldn't feel guilty about feeling overwhelmed anyone in that situation would at some time. just make sure with as much time as you spend worrying about others you're giving yourself enough time to just be you. try and find 1 night a week that you can go out with friends or take a class or go to the gym (a good punching bag can relieve stress!). just try to spend more time focusing on your happiness and you're life

Think of it like a piggy bank. You are earning points (good karma) by helping out your mother and your sister. I know that it is hard... and I can imagine that sometimes you just want to run away. I know that they seem like a burden to you, and it could be tough. BUT, if go out once in a great while and feel the sunshine on your face, and do something you like doing.... then maybe, it will be less tough on you.
