I have been considered the blacksheep of the family even though I have a good job and a college education. Of course I'm considered that for a reason, but not a bad reason in my book. I'm not a thief, I'm not a murderer, nor do I past judgement on others, but I'm the blacksheep. I guess you can say I have that label because of setting my own rules, and conducting life on my terms by any means neccessary with no due harm to anyone else, but self. So why am I still considered the BLACKSHEEP if life has changed me to who I am today?

Maybe it's your attitude. From experience you can get past being considered the blacksheep of the family. But it takes a lot of hard work, a good attitude, and time. They'll see in time, be patient.

Tough isn't it? I've got a younger brother who is over 65. He's STILL the ornery kid even though he's a model citizen, raised three great kids (who now have kids), is a very kind and loving guy. So, what to do? Get used to the idea that you've been labeled and it will stick. Sorry about that.

We all have a part to play in the stage of life. No one can live your life for you. Your family should be supportive of all your endeavors however, Good for you for your individuality. You are doing well because no one can ever take your free spirit from you. Have no regrets and march to the beat of you own drum.

I can so relate! If I am somewhat different, but I behave well and act like a reliable worker, loving father, and responsible husband, how many more decades must I do penance for my mistake of the past?!?
