Absolutely! The time comes when women begin to feel less attractive and with midlife and menopause comes the realization that youth and beauty are fading fast. Add to that emotional distress, the children begin leaving home and going away to college and the nest that the woman has so carefully attended to for the past years is now empty. She can begin to feel unloved and not needed.

Husband's tend to become complacent to a woman's emotional needs. After all....they've been married for many years and he forgets to remind her that she still has what it takes, so she can become restless and misinterpret the husband's complacency to not caring and not understanding.

Enter someone (a third party) who sniffs out the woman's vulnerability....preys on that vulnerability and decides to take advantage and you have a formula for disaster!

In her mind, the women thinks his (third party's) attention is flattering and he feeds her needs with just the right words. She can become confused and begin to think that her feelings for the third party are love, when in fact....they are just filling a need to be wanted...everyone desires love and wants to feel needed.

Women who find themselves feeling lost and alone in midlife should not pull from their husbands, but talk to them. This is when good communication is most needed.

Isn't everybody more emotionally vulnerable during midlife crisis or any stressful time ? If anything I would say men flip the most. How many 90 yr old women do you see driving around in corvettes or mustangs ??
