In some cases, yes. However these type of guys are usually not as intelligent as the women their own age, and thus it makes them feel good to be more knowledgeable.
But more often it is because they are attracted to them, possibly for the reason above, but primarily more physically. And the last reason is, because some younger women are more interested in financial security, than in a man's age or looks, and some guys with money are more than willing to accept this unspoken arrangement... in which case it is more ego based.

men who date "girls", date them to complement their ignorance and lack of esteem. A naive girl would be able to make the guy feel like a man because he is much older, powerful and more knowledable. the girl doesnt know any better and does whatever he tells her. It's all about power. A "woman" will not tolerate some of the demands and habits a man inflicts on her which hurts the man's ego. A woman will stand her ground. Hence to feel like a man, he will get a naive girl to overpower and to hold his ego/male dominance.

I think in some part yes. Some men want to always be in control and have everything their way. If they date alot younger than their age, there is a chance that they can have mind control over the girl they are dating.

Yes to some extent they do. And yes some girls are young and naive and older men feel they can take advantage. I just think youner girls need to be more aware and not fall into that trap. I mean love is love but dont let a man no matter how old to take advantage of you it's not worth it.

yeah and they tend to be virgins. i use to have a freind who would only date 14 year olds keep in mind hes 18 not 40 but its still pretty lame.

Yea, that's part of it.
I think it's mostly biological, though. Younger women are more likely to be virgins and therefore more likely to be fertile. I think that calculation happens at a subconscious level.

yeah agree..but i prefer older women..and im only 21..22 soon..but yeah..young girls like younger than 21. are still in process of growing up..so they will believe an older man..

I think men date really young girls because they are insecure about themselves and don't want to be compared sexually to someone else.

No, they date younger women because the old ones are fat and full of wrinkles.
