I don't understand why so many people answering are getting so angry! I mean, the ones saying they would just leave the baby I don't care to deal with because they're just inhuman! The ones getting all technical, about "how do you know it's Mexican", they've just got their panties in a bunch. Here's what I would do:
I would make sure the baby is fine. About the hair-lip, I would pay for the operation to fix it, it's not that expensive. Then I would try to find the parents. If I have no luck finding them, then I would take it to the authorities, and hope that if its not with me, then that they can find her/him a happy home.

I would take the baby to the nearest hospital and make sure there was nothing urgently wrong with the baby.I would call the police and tell them where I had found the baby.And Id wait to see if the child was okay.Id volunteer to take care of the baby until they could find the parents
if they would let me.Knowing the police they would place the baby with CPS and find a foster home for it.The surgery required to fix the facial deformity would be done free of charge because that's what we do here in America.
If no relatives could be found Id petition to adopt the baby.
That's about it . Id always feel a kinship with the child because I found it.I think any one would do the same.

First I would look around and see if the baby's parents might have just left the baby outside of their house. Call police immediatly check the baby out make sure it is not hungry or thursty and check it's diaper. After the Police take the baby I would check up on the child until it got into a home or adoption. Baby's are great!!!

Take it to a police station or fire department. Explain when and where you found it and let law enforcemnet find out where the mother is. Poor tyke.

How would you know it was Mexican? Baby's are really hard to tell race with because their features aren't defined. For all you know it's native american or even biracial. Unless of course it's reaching up to you saying "papi, papi." Either way, you take it to the fire department, police station, or hospital and you're done. They'll be able to handle it from there.

a baby is a baby who cares what its race is, i would call the police, and let them handle it. but i would stay with the baby until the police arrived.

I would call the police and then make sure the baby was taken care of until help arrived. I would then apply to adopt it and raise it as my own. Life is too short not to appreciate an angel dropped into your lap!

Only a moron or a racist would believe one could tell the nationality of a baby by sight. Even if it spoke Spainsh, that gives you over 20 possibilities. Also, if it was newborn that woud make it american.
Of course I would do what the other sensible person here stated they would do if they saw any baby on the street.
