I don't think it really matters what you are as long as you know why you believe what you believe and you are not closed off to learning and gaining knowledge and not afraid to admit when you are wrong. I know people from both parties and inbetween whose beliefs change with every wind that sounds good and those who refuse knowledge and correction from all three camps so what you label yourself doesn't matter.
Don't be so closed minded that you don't grow in knowledge and truth and don't be so open minded that your brains fall out. Personally, I find the ones that complain the most about the lack of open mindedness in others are some of the most closed minded people I know.

It's not all-or-nothing. Just because someone doesn't believe in every conservative ideal, or support all liberal plans, doesn't mean they are closed-minded or indecisive.
Many people simply don't fit neatly into one box or the other, because their personal beliefs don't align directly with the arbitrary categorizations that form the liberal and conservative movements.
It's not a matter of being one or the other. Because those two pre-packaged collections of ideas don't automatically apply to everyone. And people who have strong personal beliefs often find that they agree with different parts of different groups.
It's more often the people who have no strong beliefs of their own that find themselves adopting an entire group or party platform wholesale.

First of all, there are more than just two choices. Which means they could be Green, Libertarian, Independent, Socialist even Communist...
Most moderates do not allow a party to dictate there thought, though they do have views on all issues. Their views do not match any party 100% so they need to vote for which ever issue effects them most at that time or for the candidate.
And who can blame us both parties are so full of corruption it makes me sick!

Everyone has their own views and standpoints, and reasons for believing in what they do. I share some liberal views, and some conservative views....i fit most closely to libertarian.

They're mixed because they do not agree or disagree strongly with the core beliefs of either side...Open-minded, maybe, more likely they are easily persuaded

Liberal means to want change. Conservative means to want things to stay the same. So what's in the middle? You either want change or don't.
