I'm a 17 year old girl and a virgin because I know I'm not ready for sex. But for some reason I've been having sexual dreams lately. Why is this?

I don't think this is in the correct category, but I didn't know where to put it. Thanks for the answers!

A person’s life is full of dreams. Dream can be about one’s ambition which he gets fulfilled with the passage of time thru his own hard work, intelligence, good planning and with the blessings of Almighty. Another is day dreaming which is really not a good habit and can be controlled with one’s will power. But what about the dreams a person experiences during sleep. Do they hv effect in our real life? What do they mean? What is their interpretation? The person asks to his friends, elders and seniors in his social circle. Sometimes he gets satisfactory reply and sometimes not. These days Internet is a rich source of information. So one does not need to depend on others for one’s dream interpretation. The Yahansmaniac Community member suggests the following.

This does not necessarily mean that you are craving sex. It could point to a deeper feeling that makes you uncomfortable. You said yourself, "I know I'm not ready," and maybe this is the root of the problem. At your age I can understand that you are faced with sex and sexual situations every day. It's a new and slightly scary thing, and this is made worse by the fact that "everyone else is doing it." Follow your instincts and, if you're uncomfortable with the idea or you're feeling some kind of pressure, try to come to terms with this.

Plus, sex could be a metaphor for something that you're curious about or would like to try. Are you bored with something in your life? Are you craving adventure?

Yes, it does mean your body is craving sex. Your 17! I was 18 when I lost my virginity to the man I love, and I remember that day I said to him, baby, my body is tired of being a virgin. It's true!! Women crave sex too!! It's natural, you are made to crave it...I actually carve it just as much as my boyfriend sometimes more. If you dont' wanna loose it yet, I respect you. I was the same way, saving myself for the right guy, and when I felt it was safe enough for me not to get pregnant, or recieve STD's from the partner. In the meantime, just explore your body. If you do that now, by the time you are ready for sex, you will know exactly what you are doing! And your partner will LOVE having it with you. If you want a good sex life, you are doing the right thing by waiting, and if you explore yourself, you are are sending that over the roof.

Deep down, every teenage is curious about sex and has this desire about it. It is normal. It is the same as dreaming. It is also normal.

Subconsciously we all wanted to experience things that are out there and popular and things that every talk about. In your case, it could be from media effect, or daily talk from TV, people.

However, don't let the subconscience get over you, or you will regret the rest of your life. If you are a belief, keep praying and that mind will go away. However, if you concentrate on other stuff, that kind of dream will also go away. Again, it is normal to have that dream.

Sexual dreams don't necessarily mean you crave sex. Look up your dreams in a dream dictionary. You may be surprised to find other symbolic and hidden meanings in your sexual dreams. If your intuition tells you that you are indeed craving sex, a little healthy self-stimulation in private won't do you any harm. Props to you for not rushing into sex! Good job! There needs to be more smart girls like you who respect their bodies and don't cave under peer pressure.

I always thought these sex dreams were really day dreams so you could remember them and they allowed your semiconscious to play games with your most difficult problems and have some plan how you might handle them.
Good Luck! Fear your Body Not - you are beautiful "GOD made you!!!!"

Is there someone else in particular in the dream? Many times when you dream about having sex with someone, it can mean that you feel a deep level of intimacy with them (not physical intimacy, but maybe emotional/intellectual).

Not necessarily. Dreams are a way for your brain to do a trash dump, as it were, of the events of the day.

True, you're subconscious could be nudging you, but I wouldn't worry about it.

It's normal. You can't control what your dreams do... even if you think about sex no big deal. It's normal to wonder and even think about it some. But congradulations to you for being mature enough to wait. I say, enjoy your dreams :)

Not neccesarily, check out this site, once you get there, click the dream dictionary tab at the top. Find the "S's" and see what it says.

Hope this helps!
