3000 miles ? Where do you live ? If you're in the U.S. then go to

http://e85fuel.com

to find E85 near you.

You probably could make your own ethanol but it wouldn't be cost effective.
Did you know that there may be Federal & State tax incentives available to you for : buying a flex-fuel vehicle & also for using E85 ?
If you make your own ethanol you won't be able to claim tax benefits.

85% everclear And 15% gasoline. Ethanol = ethyl grain alcohol. You could set up a still and evaporate your own mash. Other industry can do a better job like the local Milk pasteurizing plant. Or in conjunction with the power plant that has a lot of wasted heat energy. Use wasted heat to get your mash to 185 degrees and ethanol steam collects on your distillation equipment. I think this whole renewable E-85 is over blown like hybrid cars. All just steps to hydrogen fuel cells and water vapor exhaust and electric drive & regenerative braking. Future will tell

Is this a truck with a diesel engine? Whatever the engine is I guarantee there is a compatible E85, B20 or even B100 fuel within 3,000 miles of wherever you are in the continental U.S.

I suppose you could, but you probably wouldn't be very successful. I would just sticjk with regular gasoline until a new flex fuel station opens near you.
