For anybody out there who knows a thing or two about police procedures, this question is for you. THIS APPLIES FOR THE STATE OF MINNESOTA. Hypothetical: The police see someone speeding a 60 in a 35 in their car, but the police don't get the liscense plate number, and the person makes it away fine, but get a fair description of the vehicle. The police had several units searching in the area for this vehicle. Questions: 1. Is there a certain time limit after the crime that they cant give you a ticket? 2. If so, how long? 3. If they see that person another time...say...a day or two later...can they give them a ticket for a crime they supposedly "committed" a day or 2 days ago if THEY DON'T HAVE A LISCENSE PLATE NUMBER??? Please respond with haste.

It would be tough. It's not even recommended to issue a ticket if the speeding vehicle leaves your sight, even with radar and a good description. It would not do well in court.

I would say no. How are the police to prove that it is the same car that did the illegal act? Also , what if it was a different driver , say a teenage kid in their parents car and the parents get pulled over several hours (or days) after the incident. I would say the once the car in question made it away without capture that it is a done deal. I am not a law enforce person ,but I don't see how that the police could make an arrest stick without confession.

listen, if you did not do the crime and you were not pulled over at the time of the incident. then let the court system decide for you. unless this is a small town situation and the police know you and seen you do it, then....... good luck

I believe that the law is much the same anywhere in the world. Its the word of the law. If the officers shore then your nicked. Paint the car.
