I'm having an arguement with a mate as to whether my salary (per year) would be enough to construct an escalator to replace the steps to the underpass near my house.
We are of course talking hypothetically, and am not really intending to pay to have this done... I just want to know how much a 30 step escalator would cost, so that if I was enough of an idiot to do it, whether or not I could!

An escalator that has 30 steps that you can climb at any one time (there has to be steps on the underside....the steps are in a belt) would cost $150,000.

Depends on size and where you are installing it. The installation is the hardest part, since some require a crane. Contact escallator suppliers such as Kone and Otis customer service for estimates on the escalator. They may also provide installation services, which may be more in an area with Union rules.

Not entirely sure on price, but I know there's a company called PKA Installation and Removal which offer a full Escalator service...

Lot of hidden cost....just how much do you make per yr?.... but was on a escalator once..that stopped due to power outage...we was trapped for hrs.......finally..just said hell with it and walked....lol
