Everyone on here keeps saying conservatives are selfish, but think about it, every action you do is selfish. If i am wrong on that statement i would love to hear it. But, in turn, are there not mulitiple kinds of being selfish? One being that it only benefits one corporation or person and one that benefits others. For instance, if a company is making a lot of money, what do they do? They invest it, let's say to expand there company, and which in turn creates more jobs and gets money going through the economy better. What is your opinion on this?

Everyone should look out for #1, however you should not be obsessed with #1. There is still plenty of good you can do for others, placing yourself after them.

Speaking from a purely biological perspective all organisms are selfish to the degree that they want to allocate the best resources for themselves so that they have a better chance of procreating.

However, many animals (humans and primates, especially) have developed societies and are social animals. This means that they have found the best way to survive and procreate is to work together. If one is selfish in a society, all of society suffers. Therefore, it is in ones best interests to be selfish when it does not come at the detriment of society as a whole.

All absolutism is a bad thing, such as assuming that selfishness is, in and of itself, always bad or always good. Life is about balancing forces that compete with one another. All people have an innate selfishness, and that fact isn't altogether bad, but it is a sign of good character that people try to be better than merely selfish.
