As I lay me down to sleep,
Into my head thoughts of terrorism creep.
So I give up and lie awake,
Imagining all of the lives that they take.

I close my eyes but sleep does not come,
My heart has been broken,I feel empty and numb.
I fear for the safety of my family and friends,
And I will do so until terrorism ends.

I wish we could all just live in peace,
I know that my dream is not out of reach.
It can't be that hard to love your fellow man,
And try to be a part of some divine plan.

The result of hate is suffering and pain,
We must allow our love to lift us to a higher plain.
For it's love that will conquer, love that will win,
Love can heal this great nation, and make us strong again.

It sounds like the work of a lifetime, you say,
But you must know, "Rome wasn't built in a day".
You can start by praying for the souls of 9-11,
Our brothers and sisters are waiting in heaven.

But you won't get to heaven with a heart full of hate,
Just free your mind, and start with a clean slate.
To honor the lives of the fallen, you see,
We must change the world, and all must be free.

I liked most of it. My only (hopefully constructive) comment is that the power of prayer is arguable, in my opinion. And, since it's such a nice poem, you might want to change the spelling of "plain" to "plane." I'm not trying to be hypercritical, I just think that a little honest criticism is more useful than an "attaboy." You were on a great roll, I'd just cut the last stanza

So, you are saying we should forgive them and start anew or change the world? I don't completely understand. But I agree that hate isn't a good platform to begin changing the world in the peaceful way.

Very nice, whether you wrote it or not. It bothers me that some people say that they are tired of hearing about 9-11 and that it didn't affect them... why would we ever want to forget and how could you be an American without being affected? That makes me sick.

Great poem. Unfortunately terrorism is not going to stop. It has been with us since the beginning fo time and will be with us till the end. The greatest way to beat terrorism is not to let it intimidate or stop you from living your life. Thousands of people die every year because of it. That is the way it goes.

i witnessed the incident. it wasn't the best thing to ever happen, but after that scheme, we know know our president is malicious and used our grief to condemn war on iraq. he should be impeached, i swear.

9/11 is a sad day and forever will be remembered.
loved your poem dearly<3.

Thank you I like It.
WE must love. We must love our enemies as Jesus taught us.
He also told soldiers to be content with their situation.
There is a prardox even in his love.
God bless you. Bless us
and let them feel our love
that they may come to love Jesus.
Then Maybe,
Maybe they will come to his Love.

Really nice poem, very pretty and quaint.
We all have to do our part to make this world as close as possible to a eutopia for future generations.

Tchuss!
