Libertarians are extremely conservative on economic policy, and extremely liberal on moral issues. They are lax on our boarders, and they do not believe in drug enforcement. They do not believe in public education. In fact, they do not believe in public anything. They believe that everything should be privatized. Under their administration the rich will get richer and the poor will get poorer. The good thing is that they believe in personal responsibly. The bad side to this is that the crime rate will increase cause more people will be poor. I believe in a balance in government, and libertarians don't have any balance.

Yes. I would add that Libertarians are usually even more self-centered and selfish than Republicans. Libertarians take their own opportunities for granted and believe that people have no obligation (moral or otherwise) to help anyone else. That's very anti-community. It's a very pedantic way of thinking.

I consider myself a Democratic libertarian. I'm a Dem but my ideology is libertarian. But if you're referring to the party then I'd have to say you're right and wrong. However, you have liberal Libertarians, moderate Libertarians and conservative Libertarians and luckily you have people who could be against say the privatization of Social Security. I don't know about public education though because I read the platform and it doesn't make any mention of not believing in public education.

Any Libertarian who does believe everything you describe would indeed be an extremist. But you are not describing all Libertarians. You are over-simplifying what Libertarianism is about.

And I can't even begin to tell you strongly I disagree with: "The bad side to this is that the crime rate will increase [be]cause more people will be poor." How wonderfully stereotypical of you: all poor people are criminals. Talk about unbalanced.

WRONG.
There would not be more poor people.
I don't know exactly when liberty became bad, but somehow it has.

People are not as stupid as you think. They do not need to have their hand held and their head patted constantly.

Libertarians believe that theft is theft. Is doesn't matter if a common criminal takes your property, a CEO takes your property, or the grand glorious all-powerful often worshiped government takes your property. It is still theft.

"I believe in a balance in government" - Do you mean that it is OK for government can force people to do things that politicians tell them to do? Let freedom ring.

I dont see how the poor would get poorer, if they got off there lazy *** and worked theyd get ritch to, and libertarians are very stricked on borders, why do you think we're ticked at bush. the crime rate will go down because there will be no need to smuggle illegal drugs.

It is true of some libertarians, and that's why a lot of republican votes end up swinging that way.
It is not true of all libertarians... my father is a libertarian, and believes in things like environmental regulation and education, because he believes in personal rights... that he has the right to breathe clean air which a business cannot impede. he believes he has the right to own a gun but not to shoot anyone with it unless they are going to shoot him. and he believes that people don't have the right to be dangerously ignorant.

NO

You must not know any liberals.

Try striking up a dialog off forum with John Skerry. He is a Green Party guy and fairly liberal.

You might recall he has flamed both major party's but never Ralph Nader.

Well you have the libertarian agenda about right. What we have now in the USA is FAR worse than that, not libertarian or even conservative, by any recent reasonable definition. Down with Dictator Dumbya!!!

But the problem with that is that makes them no better than the GOP or the Dems, so what good are they?
