Because oil companies like to take advantage of every moment a Republican is in office. Because no matter how greedy these companies can become, the Republicans will always support them since they are for big business = money.

Aaaaawww Yeah!

How many times do I have to explain this????

OK here we go

Supply:
Low prices throughout the 90's put most small oil companies out of business.
Low prices nearly bankrupted large oil companies as well (Exxon for one). This lead to the halting of exploration.
Increased environmental activist laws against oil companies
War in Middle east supply disruption
Hurricane supply disruption

Demand-
Urban sprawl-people have longer commutes
SUV in every garage-gas mileage
Duel Income homes-both drive to work separately
Increased Industrial needs- economy was booming through the 90's increase need for energy
Massive economic growth in Asia and India- half the world's population have tripled their need for energy in the last ten years.

Speculation-
Hurricanes
War
Political uncertainty

Doesn't matter. even if your favorite Hillary was in office, the price would still have gone up.
There is a very high demand for oil and gas because of rapidly growing economies like China,India and Brazil. They are more hungry for these raw materials, without which they will cease to grow. That will keep the gas prices up for a while, until we find alternative solutions.
The war(if you are implying that that is one of the reasons) has not stopped the production of oil.And the price of oil should have come down atleast in USA if Americans are stealing the oil(as some propaganda machines are implying).

Bush and Cheney had a meeting with the oil company's to set energy policy's I think at that time it was discussed that if there was turmoil in the middle east that it would raise the price of oil. and the profits from it. So Bush started a war based on lies. wam bam thank you maam, we are paying $3 a gallon.

Because of the war with Iraq. Because of 9/11, because of two natural disasters that disabled and crippled the oil refinerys. Hurricane Rita 2005, and Hurricane Katrina in 2005. This President has had more things to deal with than any other President in the last few decades. Their is speculation that if 9/11 would not of happened gas prices would be sitting at about $20.00 a barrell. So don't blame Bush blame Usama!

The same reason the price has been dropping so fast the last couple of weeks. Why is bottled water $20 a gallon? Supply and demand. Just for the record, George Soro's bought Bush's oil company and has been using his profits to support the far left liberals.

War in the Middle East? Makes perfect sense to me. For that matter....why didn't you ask how come they are dropping drastically now...and Bush and Cheny are still in office...or do you only bring up negative talking points?
