If you want the government to be a parent and look after you, then vote Socialist. If you want to be able to live your own life with as much personal freedom as possible, vote Libertarian. Depends on what you mean by best interests. I can promise you that neither the Republicans nor Democrats have your best interests at heart, unless you've donated a substantial amount of money to either.
