Some change is inevitable, but I'm not so sure that the next President will be able to pull us out of Iraq (if that was what you were wondering). If another Republican is elected, then he'll just keep us in Iraq and defend it. If a Democrat gets elected, then he'll talk about getting us out, but won't.

I think that Bush will have a much more difficult time making insidious changes to our laws, if there is a Democratic majority in the House and Senate.
I think there is a possibilty he could be impeached, though not a probability, unless Cheney can be successfully impeached at the same time. No one wants Cheney in the Presidency.
I don't believe anything will happen to reverse the harm Bush's administration has done, until there is a Democrat majority in the House and Senate AND a Democrat President.
The sometimes diametrically opposed stance of the Democrat Party will perhaps bring about a reversal of some of the Republican Party's actions over the last few years. I would like to see student funding become a priority again, and environmental issues actually getting addressed. Those would be welcome changes, and quite probably will happen, if the House and Senate come under Democrat control after November.

In the US elections coming up, if enough democrats are voted into congress/senate, maybe the executive branch can be slowed down a little in what they want to do - or maybe the exec. branch (prez et al) will try somehow to overule the legis. branch (congress et al) as they've tried to overule the judicial branch (supreme court). At this point, who knows?
No matter who gets voted in, now or in two years, dumb stuff will still happen, the rich will get richer and the poor will still be kept down. But the degree of it may change. And if the Republicans stay in power, I shudder to think what other trouble will happen.

no not really! I vote by process of elimination.
Listen to all the speeches and promises and read the literature.. If there's far too many promises then that person is eliminated! If one
has shown to be dishonest I eliminate it until
I arrive at the least dishonest politician running for election. If that politician is backing something I agree with then that politician gets my vote! Other wise I go through the list again and uneliminate the next least dishonest person that is backing something I agree with!

Yes, things will change. The real question is, will they change for the better?

No, unfortunately, I don't. Until there is an adminstration change, I do not believe that things truly ever change.
