I was also a Mom at 17, you have your rights. But, the system can knock you around a bit. If you live with your parents they still have parental control over you. What is going on, I may be able to help. I have 4 daughters and like I said I had my first when I was 17. I also work for a lawyers office so I may be able to answer some questions that you may have if your problem is legal. My name is Rebecca... skipper44567@yahoo.com

As long as you are a responsible parent, non abusive, then you have the same rights as any parent. Age doesnt matter. People try to say that the younger you are the less rights you have, thats totally untrue. I had my daughter at 17, I finished school had a full time job supported myself and my daughter. I had some help from my mom until i could stand on my own two feet, but I had the same rights legally as any other responsible mother.

A lot of rights a teen mom has depends on the state that she lives in. Some states consider you an adult at 17 as far as you can move out with out becoming emancipated. I know in Georgia where I used to live, when I was pregnant with my son at 17 I was able to get my wic and other services with out my mom, but when it came to getting an ultrasound at the hospital they wanted my mother to sign the paperwork since I was under 18. I was like "I am old enough to get pregnant and know better, I should be old enough to sign my own paperwork."
So it varies, best thing to do is check with your Department of Health, they can answer a lot of questions and send you in the right direction to get the help you need. Take care! Know that there is always help out there, even community help is great. Good Luck and hang in there!

Same rights as any parent. You can only have your parental rights taken away if you are proven to be an unfit mother.

You need to be a little more clear. What is the problem? What rights are you concerned about?
