Here in Arizona, it is not a new thing. A lot of Mexicans, legal or not, think that by saying you don't want illegals here, you are saying you don't want Mexicans here. It has nothing to do with the fact that they are Mexican, I don't care about that. Immigrants (from anywhere, not just Mexico) are good for a number of reasons. But ILLEGAL Immigrants are BAD. There is a big difference. I am sick and tired of paying hundreds of dollars in taxes every month, part of which goes to support illegals who don't pay any taxes. I work in a medical office, and I'm sick and tired of seeing illegals come in on state-funded health insurance, that I PAY INTO when they don't pay a dime. It's really frustrating for those of us who are legal citizens especially when I needed a little help when I didn't have insurance and was DENIED, yet they didn't deny my tax money from every paycheck. How is that fair? And yes, illegals can get welfare and other government funded resources, why I don't know, but I've seen it. If you want to come here, do it legally and most people will not have a problem with you. If the responsible Mexicans want someone to be mad about when they feel their culture is being made to look bad, maybe they should be mad at the illegals instead of those of us who are sick of working hard for our money only to have the government take it away and give it to illegals.

I think most of us were just living our lives.. I did not become interested until Sept 11, and my interest is shutting down the borders so that no person can come into this country illegally... not Mexican bashing. Before I was on that bandwagon I was on the Advocate for the homeless bandwagon.. still am. Thanks for asking.

It went like this...... First we hated the British, then the Indians, Irish, Chinese, Italians, Catholics, Blacks, Jews, those F'ing Hari Krishnas (I'm still not too crazy about them), Republicans, Arabs, Gays, and now middle America is pissed off at the Mexicans. If your not covered in there somewhere, wait...... I'm sure as soon as some politician thinks turning on you and yours will get his butt in the White House, you'll be next.

Actually ( in my case) youre right. I didnt become active until I watched the Mexicans shut down 405 with a march DEMANDING amnesty. That totally rubbed me the wrong way.
What was I doing? Probably throwing darts at Hillary Clintons PIC.

I've always been on that bandwagon - since it left the station.

Well, really since I could formulate an opinion for myself. It has always been my view point.

we all have our various bandwagons and soap boxes. there is enough to keep us all busily hopping from one issue to the next. we only need go as far as the next news broadcast to find more drama...

It might be new to you wilbur but to those of us in Arizona its been a problem since the first amnesty in the 80's. The problem is now so large that the rest of the nation cannot ignore it. What were you doing? That's right.....sleeping.

Great question. They were whining about President Clinton should of been impeached meanwhile the terrorists were making their master plan. Now their whining about undocumented immigrants taking their jobs meanwhile all the real jobs are going to China. Yep no whining on that issue. Yet.

What makes you think illegal immigration is new?
It has been going on for many many years.
It has just gotten to the point where we are going to lose our country.
