I watched a similar one today, on the History Chanel,
I was shocked, and I think that not only did Clinton fail the United States of America there, but that we were again failed when all of bin Laden's family and friends were let out of the country on chartered flights. What, find bin laden without casualties? Then bring back every American who died on 9/11/2001 only then there is cause to let bin laden's family go scott free. Otherwise, i think this was a missed opportunity to seize the day, and get the job done like it's supposed to be done! This beautiful country of ours was not founded on a bunch of wussies! Kill our citizens, well, its not our fault you are stupid enough to leave your family in America at the same time. De- humanize our citizens? Sorry, your family that you left behind in America just went from human status to an item we could USE in order to bring justice, by whatever means necessary. Don't want to play by the rules? Want to crash planes into buildings? Sorry, no guarantees on what we feel fit to do with your family members. That's my thoughts. We should have used the resource that was handed to us by the enemy, we should have used the enemy. Screw money, screw oil, we built this incredible, beautiful America from nothing, from the ground up, built by a legacy of intelligent individuals. We can be self sustaining if we want to be! We are Americans, we can do what we want to do! We did it once, we can do it again! We are AMERICANS! The best the world has to offer!
Bin Laden FAILED!
WHY???

********BECAUSE AMERICA STANDS UNITED TODAY!*********

Star Spangled Banner

September 20, 1814
By Francis Scott Key

Oh, say can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, now conceals, now discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines on the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner! O long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion
A home and a country should leave us no more?
Their blood has wiped out their foul footstep's pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved homes and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heaven-rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, for our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner forever shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

One reason why is fear of INNOCENT DEATHS, but this is war, and if I was the president or whoever was making the shoots, this is want I will do:

"We have Bin Laden and we know where he is, there are innocents in the area, then that's too bad, and this is war. Some must be sacrificed to save many".

For the must part he or the country don't see OBL as a treat at the time. It had to take another administration to do most of the job

I like the series and I think they are 90% accurate by watching the History, and Geography Channels not to mention the research on the history of Osama Bin Laden and Al-qaida.

That was not a documentary it was a fictionalized account. You can be sure that the current administration is also culpable in this.
Now lets discuss the other issues of what prevented him from doing more. If you will remeber that was the period when the republicans were pulling all the stop to try and discredited him and cripple all of his programs. The best they could come up with is that he cheated on his wife and lied about it. Suprise suprise suprise!!!!!!!! Do you really think he would have been able to get the needed support to authorize sending troops in to get him?
Dont let the current administration adn the mainstream media distract you from the hard questions tht must be answered. Lets start with something simple. What happened to building 7?

I only saw part of it, but the Clinton administration did try twice (at least) to grab or kill bin Laden. The first time they were cleared to take him in Afghanistan. The government tried to pull the plug at the last minute, but it was too late. The attack was in progress, but bin Laden had already escaped. The second time was cruise missile attack at the camp, but the Clinton administration warned the Pakistanis too early (for legitmate reasons, but too early), and the Pakistanis warned bin Laden. Bin Laden left just before the attack. The Clinton adminstration was very concerned about assassinating bin Laden, and they wanted to avoid it at all costs, unless it could appear accidental.

As for the Pakistanis offering bin Laden up, I have no idea why he could have let those chances get away. And as for the invasion of Afghanistan, it was decided that taking out Taliban for supporting bin Laden was overkill, even after the embassy bombings.

Basically the Clinton administration didn't see bin Laden as the threat he truly was. They were more concerned about possible political repurcussions of any military action.

Clinton didn't care about his fellow American people like Bush does. Besides Clinton was too busy with Monica Lewinsky. He cheated on his wife, what a looser.

I think Monica is some sort of foreign spy that made it all happen....noggin = ignore. Let's hope Hilary can do better!

When would he have had time? The Republicans were breathing down his neck left and right about Monica Lewinsky, wanting to know if he had had an affair with her.

The liberal hero didn't have the balls to do the right thing. I guess Monica had them in hand and they were unavailable at the time.

Because he was more worried about getting head from that fat intern than to worry about the country he was elected to protect. What a piece of work.

The film was not a documentary. It was fantasy. It wasn't even based on the truth.
