I am getting married soon, my colors are black and apple red. Pool blue,silver, and white are also cute.

i had a winter wedding and my colors wed dark red, white and silver.
generally the rule of thumb is darker colors for autumn and winter and lighter colors for spring and summer. but ultimatly it is your choice and you could throw the rules out the window if you chose.
besides the colors i used in my own wedding, i also like:
-green
-lavender
-black
basically any of those colors mixed with white and/or silver goes well
personally i don't like pastels/pinks, i feel it's way overdone and it's not just the brides wedding, it's also the grooms and i don't think the groom like pastels and pinks.

It really depends on the season and what you like. Check out lots of pics and see what you like. I like vibrant colors. Some color schemes I have seen done well were:
Fall- jewel tonse, burnt orange, garnet, golden yellow
Spring- Pink & Sage or Chocolate & Aqua
Blue everything- blue on blue on blue

Depending on the season...
Winter....white, silver and blues would be good
Spring....pale springy colors: yellow, lt green, pink and lavender
Summer...Brighter colors, red, orange, brighter pinks and purples
Fall.....burgandy or rust colors with hunter green.

for my new year's eve wedding my colors will be midnight blue, silver and white and the theme will be winter wonderland.

Mine will be Iris purple and dark yellow. It is a great color for my bridesmaids and incorporates my and my bf's favorite's colors.

Black bridesmaid dresses, white wedding dress with white tulips. I've seen it, and it's beautiful!!
