1. There is no more Saddam Hussein. This is a good thing. We were justified for taking him out because he refused to honor the cease fire after the Gulf War. He was supposed to allow UN Weapon Inspectors unfettered access to his facilities. He refused. By our right, we voided the peace treaty. Here is justification that is irrefutable.

2. We have established the first freely elected democracy EVER in the Middle East. That is a huge accomplishment.

3. A by product of #1 is we liberated the country that lived under a killer.

4. This was has shown the American public that the left wing of the Democratic party cannot defend our country. They focus on things that may have happened years ago. They cannot offer a plan to lead us into the future. Also, we have learned how irrelevant the UN is.

The only positive effects the war on Iraq will have will be for the Bush Administration itself. For Bush, Cheney, Corporate etc. This administration seems to want an open market lol and the others don't want it. They are trying to force their ideas of freedom.
and the others don't want it. Actually that is there right not to follow what America wants. None of this will effect us. Not unless we are very wealthy. They could care less if we make 5.00 an hour and pay 5.00 for a gallon of gas. None of this is in our best interest just the rich. Accept our class, middle and lower class, provides the majority of the soldiers dying and being injured. They will not profit either.

It has been handled so badly - I'll give it a try, but the blithering incompetence of the current Administration makes it difficult:

1. We have Iraq back on the US Dollar standard for purchase and sale of oil and oil products;

2. We got rid of Saddam Hussein and those horrible children of his;

3. Saudi Arabia and Kuwait are for the nonce safe;

4. The Iraqi government we are supporting just might work, though this is really doubtful [I remember Vietnam very well, thank you];

5. Iraqi oil is available for a few more years.

I hope that this somewhat answered your question.

Great job security if you're in the military, civilian contract, or arms & military industrial sectors. If you sell supplies to military or terrorists, very good opportunities. Journalists are selling more copy. NGOs are also doing a thriving business, whether it be Doctors without Borders, Red Cross, Red Crescent, or whatever.

Culturally, the West is being hauled into greater awareness of Islam and Middle Eastern, Southwest Asian cultures, whether willingly or not. Just as Viet Nam taught many of us about Southeast Asia, now Iraq and Afghanistan is spreading Arab, Pashto, Urdu, and other culture back to the West through different kinds of contact: military, journalistic, trade, political.

From the point of view of terrorists, the war in Iraq is a proving ground for their ideologies. Here, the more extreme or aggressive Islamist, Baath Socialist, Pan-Arab philosophies are able to meet the West head-on, go toe to toe in a struggle to see who and what shall prevail. Some of the jihadists who are swarming to Iraq feel it is better to try to confront and fight the American and U.K. and allies there, than wait for the Western influence and power continue to transmit to their own lands and dominate their own cultures. None the less, they too are being influenced by our ideas, willingly or not.

Our methods of fighting are creating counter-measures in their own tactics and strategies. Their own Islam is becoming more reactive to ours. Although some of them will seek to withdraw into Koranic study, others will learn English and our ways in order to try to monitor us, to infiltrate us. The unwanted or indirect effect of this will be that they become more like us.

Yet if we are to win the war in Iraq, we must become more like them. Is this positive? You decide.

No. We have just made many more enemies in the world for attacting a country that had done nothing to us and was totally unrelated to the attack of 9/11 . Both the President and Dick Cheney have admited that now. The war has cost us over $500 Million dollars so far. Just think of what our schools could have done with that money ? Good luck ! :)

The American people never want to fight wars and thats a good thing, but when called on and needed to save the world from the evil inflences out there, we are there and with saddam gone there will be a hell of a lot less hate towards Americans

For me the negatives so outweigh the positives that I can not think about the war without shuddering. The war has gotten this country so far off track, I hope there comes a day soon when we can redeem ourselves.

Absolutely nothing good will come from this needless invasion. It was a recruitment for terrorists brought to you by George Bush and company that will keep there cronies rolling in money for years to come. We have a group of selfish basta*ds (both parties can take responsibility!) in Washington that have set back civilization backwards for no other reason then to fill their pockets with blood money.
