To be honest, i am terrified to answer this question honestly as the people on here report your honest opinion as a violation. We are living in a society where you are unable to air your views as you are then labelled as a racist.......so lets just do what is politically correct and let other countries take over ours and lets sit back and do and say nothing.....

Probably not .... this all hinges on how the government of the UK want the rest of the world to see us. We live in a global market now and we must be seen to give as well as take. Personally, I think we are losing our 'Englishness' and becoming too multicultural too quickly. It is no wonder that hard workers in this country wonder why they do work so hard when all immigrants have to do is turn up and ask for benefits etc. I work in an official capacity and day after day I hear these type of complaints. But we must remember that there are good and bad in every society ... it's just damn hard to tell at the moment!!

I think alot of people get confused with the terms 'asylum seeker' and 'EU Immigrant' as another poster said, they don't send a letter of intention. The gov't or newpapers can make an "educated"(yeah right) estimation. They make this estimation on past years of immigration. I would say unless something is done about 'OPEN Immigration' we can expect a large influx of european immigrants, like we did when Poland joined the EU. As far as asylum seekers go, there needs to be new regulations regarding who can be considered to come into this country. But this is difficult to achieve without the VOICE OF THE MAJORITY. Immigration is not the problem OPEN Immigration is the problem. This rock is only so big, there are only so many available jobs, although immigrants create jobs, funds available to create those jobs is limited, so it creats some stress in all sectors. There is only so much available housing and seeing as it is already extremely difficult for first time buyers to get into a house, it will become more difficult with more people coming every year. As far as immigrants stealing jobs because they work for less, that's called FREE ENTERPRISE, CAPITALISM, and alot of them work more than one job. As far as being treated less favourably, I would say NO. But I can understand why some people would, all I have to say to those people is ' Life is what YOU make it, this is not a rehearsal, you only get one chance, so rather than sit around whinning about, get off your as.s and DO SOMETHING about it. Whether it be complain to your local MP, rallying people of like mind and marching on Parliment, getting a second job, getting better training, what ever, but obviously pi.ssing and whinning to your neighbour or friend while downing a pint in the pub isn't working.

We Should do what the Swiss do, if they see them coming near there borders they shoot at them...

I have had it up to my eyeballs with Asylum seekers etc, the law is that there supposed to stop in the first E.U Country they come too, but Nooo with all the benefits being dished out in Ireland and The UK, we might as well hand over our souls to them!

It makes me sick, that my hard earned tax paying cash is going into there sorry *** hands..I've had it, I'd vote BNP just to get rid of them, their right to a certain degree, I've done the math also, judging on the amount of births that occur in foreign nationalities compared to British or Irish is ahead by 2-3, it is true when they say the English will become a minority in there own country in 60yrs time...

I guarantee if you rally around your local communities and do a survey the people will all feel the same its a question of getting off your backsides and telling the Government no more! You'll be surprised at the support you will get if you decide to rally a petition and march to Parliament with banners etc...

They'll come out in the 1000's and I'd be one of them!...As for all those happy dooo gooder hug the world and have a coke heads they can all go to hell!

Yes....but there is diddly squat you can do about it. The law makers have said that once in the EU all are welcome. Germany/France et al have defied Brussels & insisted that they must protect their own people by introducing impossible qualification criteria as they feared a back lash from their own peoples. English people for some reason have become as spineless as the politicians in the country.

Its time to stand up in England, raise our heads & tell the current government that we've had enough & will not put up with it any more. Lets do a Frenchie & block the ports, block the roads, protest & also the immigration offices (Crawley for one is full of illegals every day trying it on), get down to these places & let the illegals know that they are not welcome.

This is an easy one. If the world gets too hot, we've proven that we can survive it because the "Cradles of Civilization" were in hot, dry areas. If the world gets cold, then we've already proven that we can withstand ice ages, and that's without any "high" technology. If the world gets overpopulated, it will, out of necessity, balance itself out. I don't think we need to worry about surviving the next 100 years. The real question is how to we keep the next 100 years from becoming the next Dark Age.

Yes we are, without a doubt. When these people can get the amount of money as soon as they enter the country, there will, I'm sure be thousands upon thousands more! Word travels fast where money is concerned.Gordon Brown needs to change his tax policies, thats where its being exploited!!! And he may be the new Prime Minister, who, I might add, will still control the budgets of this country, regardless of who the next Chancellor will be, if not him!!!! Why are we putting up with it??

I think that the word British is going to be something of a history book fairy tale. I really don't know why the English put up with it, so sad to become the 52nd state. The only problem with this is that the rest of Europe has to pay with their cultures as well.

I would say more and the fact that there will be approx 1.5 million Polish, Romanian and Bulgarians. It feels great to be British in Britain - don't you think? Well done Tony Blair! I can't wait till my children no longer learn French at school and start to learn Arabic and Polish.

Half of you don't even know the difference between an asylum seeker and EU economic migrant so you don't even qualify to make sweeping statements you know nothing about.
