If I broke the law, I'd be fined or put in jail.

It makes no sense to defend illegals. If someone does defend them, that means they defend lawbreakers. So I guess they wouldn't mind if someone broke into their house or stole their car. I'd like to see pro-illegals defend a thief who stole their property. It won't happen. No one likes a thief except another thief.

Recently large demonstrations have taken place across the country protesting the fact that Congress is finally addressing the issue of illegal immigration. Certain people are angry that the US might protect its own borders, might make it harder to sneak into this country and, once here, to stay indefinitely. Let me see if I correctly understand the thinking behind these protests.

Let's say I break into your house. Let's say that when you discover me in your house, you insist that I leave. But I say, "I've made all the beds and washed the dishes and did the laundry and swept the floors; I've done all the things you don't like to do. I'm hard-working and honest (except for when I broke into your house).

According to the protesters, not only must you let me stay, you must add me to your family's insurance plan, educate my kids, and provide other benefits to me and to my family (my husband will do your yard work because he, too, is hard-working and honest, except for that breaking in part). If you try to call the police or force me out, I will call my friends who will picket your house carrying signs that proclaim my right to be there.

It's only fair, after all, because you have a nicer house than I do, and I'm just trying to better myself. I'm a hard-working and honest, person, except for, well, you know.

And what a deal it is for me!! I live in your house, contributing only a fraction of the cost of my keep, and there is nothing you can do about it without being accused of selfishness, prejudice and being an
anti-housebreaker. Oh yeah, I want you to learn my language so you can communicate with me.

Why can't people see how ridiculous this is? Only in America!

Nothing.
People should follow the law. There is a legal way and a guest work pass. And everyone can not have everything they want.

No one is saying that law breakers shouldn't be deported... there are issues that are far more politically strenuous than that.

The main issue with immigration is that we are ALL immigrants and too many people think of it as a race thing... we're just trying to avoid being total nazi's about the whole thing... some of us anyway...

Too many people think that illegals are the only reason that the country seems to be going to crap... I say it's been happening since companies started sending all of our jobs to China... who needs to worry about immigration if poor folks can't find a job here in the states anyway...

Just say no to cheap chinese products from Wal-Mart and you will see America get better... I promise.

no it is not racist at all............people pull out the race card because in this overly PC world , nobody wants to be called a racist, and those who are pro-illegal use it for 2 reasons ...one they do not have a legitimate argument for allowing illegals to stay and two they hope if they say it is racist ...people will back down or not even say it to begin with....which is unfortunately often true...most people do back down...good for you for not backing down

Nothing is wrong with that. I was just thinking a little while ago, if the reason that people are pro-illegal because the illegals are poor and undereducated and just trying to do better for themselves, then why do we prosecute poor people at all? They dont know any better right.

Not ONE thing, wrong with that!!!!!
Just look how many CRIMES are being committed by illegals, almost EVERY day!!!! You can't hardly watch or read the news reports without some crime being committed by ANOTHER illegal!!!!!
There's over a MILLION violent crimes a year being committed by illegals!!! Is it any WONDER we want our borders CLOSED, lawbreakers DEPORTED, and to know exactly who and what is coming into this country???!!!

Your not being racist, but your judging them based on your own living situation, which is not good. From their point of view, at least for many of them they are comming from a bad place to a better place, at no matter the personal cost. It is worth it to take that risk for a better life and they mean no harm to america and american people. Try putting yourself in their shoes, and then who is the bad guy? Yes, its problably you, the one who is shouting at them to be imprisioned for the crime of trying to better their own life at any cost.
