I lost 110 lbs by doing the following.

If you want to keep the weight off, you must do it gradually. Between 1-2 lbs a week. Try to cut down on sugars and carbs. Don't cut carbs out completely as we actually need them for energy and brain power. Try to eat protein as that is what your muscles are made of.

You will also need to exercise. Start out slowly if you haven't exercised in a long while then gradually increase it. I also found yoga helped me too.

I had several (5-7) small meals a day. By eating several small meals, you keep your insulin leveI even which helps increase your metabolism. Contrary to popular belief, if you skip meals, your body will start to store anything you eat since it is unsure as to when it's next meal will happen. This will cause you to gain weight, not lose it. By the same logic, if you are constantly feeding your body, it will realize you aren't starving it and won't store more then it actually needs.

I ate plenty of fruits and vegetables, chicken, beef and pork and substitued a protein shake for one meal a day. Drink lots and lots of water as that helps to clease your body.

Once a week, I allowed myself to eat whatever I wanted.

About 4-6 months

Try the following : do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. The 45 minute thing is not true, but don't over 60 minutes at a time.

Do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.

The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!

Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.

Read fitness magazines, like Shape and Fitness for motivation and tips.

Good luck and stick at it.

That is upon for you to decide. Do you have a target date or timeframe to lose this extra weight? Are you starting a diet and/or exercise regiment?

A healthy way to lose weight is to cut your daily calorie intake i.e. instead of 2200 Calories per day, cut it down. Do some research online for your age/weight/height to find out what your daily consumption SHOULD BE and what your consumption WOULD BE in order to lose weight. Also try making smarter choices on foods that you eat. You may want to consider taking a multi-vitamin supplement. Keep a food journal, as that helps to keep yourself motivated to your target.

here are some helpful links when it comes to diet:

Consider putting a work out routine along with a new diet (unless you are already doing so). A good way to help lose extra pounds along with a healthy diet is a routine of cardio (such as running/jogging, cycling, jump rope, etc) and strength training. When you start to lose weight by working off pounds, you still need muscle mass (b/c you don't want flabby skin hanging around).

You can always research online, ask a health care professional, and read up on ways to lose weight.

Good luck!

No mystery, cut intake, increase energy expenditure. Look up a website to calculate your BMR for your size and decrease your needs by say 500 Cal/day. Then exercise to burn off more. To be healthy you want to lose no more than 3-4 pounds per week, max. You will lose more at first.
Will take you approximately 10 weeks. Any faster would be unhealthy and would not be creating a lasting effect.

get off the computer and get outside and exercise.

The healthy weight to lose is no more than 2 lbs per week.

Eat lean meats and veggies, lowfat diary products. Watch portion size as well, stay away from processed carbs such as white bread and pastas, eat whole grain carbs and NO SUGAR.
