You're absolutely right, people that wanna hurt somebody have their own little ideas etc., and that's not what this is about, it's about preserving the Union and part of that is upholding some of our more important laws, immigration law being one.
Sure, we want to make money, or try to at least, but what cost is too great to pay to make a buck? If we get to the point where our tax base is unable to pay what's required to manage and oversee
all these goings-on, and pay for the medical care and pay for the welfare and pay for the promised benefits, and pay for the military and the police and the hospitals and god knows what else, and we go billions further into the red each year, it's time to look for ways to build down that burden, and a great start would be by realizing that we just flat can't afford to adopt Mexico at large. If they want what we have, or similar, they need to build it themselves IN Mexico. But, it's lucrative for em to sell drugs, work illegally, and basically take anything they can lay hands on and drag it home with em. Having 'blind' border policy facilitates that, I believe, and change will likely be a long time coming.
Foreign aid is one thing, playing stupid is something else. BEING stupid is the worst of all, and we've been really stupid in how we've handled the border thing. So, reform is in order, I like what's going on, city ordinances, new state laws that expressly prohibit employment of illegals, that kind of thing. 'Ballots, not bullets' is the more civilized approach, here, this is the 21st century, we've got a lot of bright people in this country, give us time and we'll work it out. Mexico could start working on that, themselves, and make life a lot easier on both countries. 'Take anything you want from America' can't be their best answer...

i imagine the whole ingredient is a shaggy dog tale, that's insane! they're actually granting amnesty, and they are no longer ultimate that border, that's been happening for too lengthy and that's unhappy. they don't seem to be going to computer screen for citizenship, the waiting era is merely too lengthy and that all of them imagine they have the right to come back the following...for some reason they don't sense the opt to persist with a similar regulations as anybody else. There ought to surely no longer be amnesty. Why ought to we reward them for coming the following illegally? The consequences are not likely to be enforced, and anybody knows it.

Like Lordkelvin said we don't need to deport anyone. Once the laws are enacted, they will not be able to work because employers would face stiff penalties for hiring them. Plus welfare would end for them. They would deport themselves slowly but surely.
Also, of course, we need a border fence to stop the steady influx till they all finally get the F out!!

Any illegal immigrant should be deported to the country from which they came. We can not just let anyone come and live here. I believe this should be done humanely and fast and there country should cooperate. I'm not against immigration, but it should be done legally to protect the people who already live and work here.

I hope but am not sure it would happen..............but if it does
1st make it harder to use fake/stolen SSN #s
2nd give points to any illegal who declares themselves now, leaves the country....they will be given point preferences to any future guest worker programs
3rd Huge fines for companies hiring illegals...when the jobs dry up , eventually most will have no other choice but to leave with their families in tact...it will take awhile but no tearing daddy away from kids scenes on 6 o'clock news, won't cost us a penny , so just let attrition take care of it...slow stream out

How likely is that going to happen? Before that happens, the United States will launch the entire country to another planet to start over. Before that happens, dinosaurs will hatch out of regular chicken eggs. Before that happens, gardeners will have genetically modified plants that grow tilapia fillets that are ready to pan fry. A better way to ask that question would be, "If the US passes a law that closes the border, how many years will it take the rest of the world to stop laughing."

I don't believe that you do anything to any illegal. You just go after the employers with huge fines and strict enforcement. If an illegal can't get a job in the US then they can't make money to live, eat, or send back to Mexico. If they can't get money then they will not stay.

Sadly--I don't see it happening. If it were to happen, I'd like to see those who have been here, working hard and being productive citizens(no criminal records) being given the first opportunites to return legally. Those who've come from 'dangerous' areas of the world (and again are here wanting to become citizens) should be able to remain. But a vast majority who are undocumented should need to start over at square one--and those who have committed serious crimes here--should never be allowed to return.

If we also make it a felony to hire or house them most of them will wander back by themselves. We can also provide transportation to those who voluntarily turn themselves in. I bet we could find a bunch of them in churches if we ever get that tough about illegal immigration.

anyone who says it wont happen is just saying that to make you think it cant. IT CAN HAPPEN. no matter what anyone tells you. you could send them home in buses. they could make a hotline for everytime you suspect someone is illegal to call. it would provide many jobs to american citizens to be part of something that could be called something like the "illegal patrol" to help out the INS they would go home in buses. trust me it would work! AND the cost of keeping them here is much more than the cost of getting rid of them!
