The law is an impersonal tool that by its very nature can sometimes opress the ever changing human element in society. If the law or set of laws becomes even more entrenched over time, then the courage of those who defy it in the name of humanity is all the more impressive.
Of course, crime for personal gain is never cool.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. When one needs to eat or, God forbid, feed others one will do what has to do. Have you ever had to feed a child? I'm not saying all illegals are angels, but put yourself in their position. When one's belly is full one more easily judges.
