McCain will lose in the primary due to the same push polling and whisper campaigns that kept him out of the race in 2000 because he doesn't toe the far right party line. Giuliani is pretty transparent. It will be some shrink wrapped smiling idiot that we aren't even thinking about right now to come from the right. He might even win if America is still falling for the "Boo! Scary terrorists!" campaign strategy in 2008.

Look to see what happens to Sen. Chafee in Rhode Island in his primary. If he gets the boot, that's a bad sign for the possibility of a moderate Republican presidential candidate. (And why is that race getting so little press, but the Lieberman/Lamont race was everywhere?)
Of course, I don't so much mind a Republican president if he's facing a Democratic Congress. Best to split things up; when one party runs both houses of Congress AND the White House, it's never good.

Are you on DRUGS
McCain is hated by everyone He sold out to the enemy when he was in Vietnam. The Swift Boat Vets proved that when they busted Skerry for faking his service record.
And Rudy is a whore-mongering adulterer. He will never get the selfrightious NeoCon vote.
Jeb Bush has already been selected as the next president by the RNC/GOP all your John talk is nonsense.

Rudy will never get elected - he's far too liberal for uptight Rethugs. They don't like that he's supportive of gay rights, they don't like that he's on his third wife, and they don't especially care that wife #2 of Rudy was his 2nd cousin (check all official bios).
McCain has health issues and will be 73 years old when inaugeration day rolls around.
General Wesley Clark could debate both of them on Iraq with one arm tied behind his back.

I may be a liberal, but I don't feel threatened by either Guliani or McCain. They're both excellent men, and I would be proud to have them as president. I'd just prefer to have Hillary Clinton or Russ Feingold.
