Nobody in the Bush administration ever said that Saddam was connected to 9/11, so why do the liberals keep trying to use the straw-man argument that "Saddam had nothing to do with 9/11". Nobody said he did. We went into Iraq because Saddam didn't conform to the requirements of the cease-fire from when he invaded Kuwait and because there were other terror cells in Iraq.

That's a bold face lie, it was implied over and over again..if you would just search CNN..and other REAL news outlets you will see on numerous occasions this lie was made.......THE PRESIDENT: Well, all due in modesty, I thought I did a pretty good job myself of making it clear that he's not disarming and why he should disarm. Secretary Powell will make a strong case about the danger of an armed Saddam Hussein. He will make it clear that Saddam Hussein is fooling the world, or trying to fool the world. He will make it clear that Saddam is a menace to peace in his own neighborhood. He will also talk about al Qaeda links, links that really do portend a danger for America and for Great Britain, anybody else who loves freedom.

As the Prime Minister says, the war on terror is not confined to just a shadowy terrorist network. The war on terror includes people who are willing to train and to equip organizations such as al Qaeda.

See, the strategic view of America changed after September the 11th. We must deal with threats before they hurt the American people again. And as I have said repeatedly, Saddam Hussein would like nothing more than to use a terrorist network to attack and to kill and leave no fingerprints behind.

I do not wish to assume that you are completely dishonest, so I assume you are entirely uninformed. Several top administration officials, including the Vice President, explicitly said that Iraq was involved in 9/11 on numerous news programs during the run-up to the war and on occasions since then -- until the falsity of the statement recently became untenable even for them. You are simply incorrect on your facts, much like the people you apparently support politically -- although they do not merit the same assumption of honesty that you do.
