They shouldn't necessarily withdraw troops from Afghanistan, but they should at least have a clearcut mandate there, and one that the Canadian people support.

As it stands now, Canada is essentially in Afghanistan to appease the Bush administration. They stood up to Bush on Iraq and on the (ineffective and doomed) missile defense system. They had to throw Bush some sort of bone. So we went into Afghanistan.

But what are we doing there? What real goals do we hope to accomplish? Talk of spreading democracy and fighting terrorism is very impressive, but what are our benchmarks for success?

We have to know why we're in Afghanistan. Canada isn't a country that will tolerate spending lives of our noble warriors, treasure and international good will for naught. We have to know what we're there for, and it needs to be something that makes sense -- not just a bunch of senseless rhetoric from George W. Bush's "last-year" speechwriter.

The only reason Canada would have for pulling its troops from Afghanistan would be too keep the French-Canadians in Canada in check!

Because surrendering to terrorism is always a great idea, it will not embolden them and they will not attack again, even though that is what they always do, and that is their stated mission.

What happened to Canada, they used to be a great nation now they are France Lite.

because its men and women are being killed in a war that they really had nothing to do with until the u.s. asked them to be. and since canada really shouldnt support us with troops in a war that isnt theirs, that should be reason enough to withdraw.

The cloth was so heavy, it took 8 months to make the quilt, it may get a stain on it, it is so pretty.

They might be tired of American troops killing them.

Just this week an American A10 Warthog killed a bunch of Canadians.

They call it friendly fire. I'm thinking with friends like that who needs enemy's.
