How can I remove previous search keywords from the Yahoo search engine box?

I would like to leave the more useful searches for my staff to check but remove the ones that lead to dead-ends. Once I have entered a key word, it seems to always be in the box as soon as I enter its first letter. How do I clean it out?

Save the useful links to favorites & clear history by visiting internet options in the tools menu of your internet explorer & clear the cookies & temp files also.
