I recently sold my dog to a new family she is about 9 months old. They said sence they got her she wont eat, or at least not much. they took her to the vet and had blood work done but all the results came back negative. The vet may think just stressed out alittle. She drinks water. does anyone know how long it lasts or have any suggestions.
thank you
amanda

Her world has been shattered, maybe the new family has an overactive kid that is bugging it. Or she misses you. She should be fine soon.

she feels abandoned by her family (you) . i adopted a yorkie that was 3 yrs and he missed his family for almost a year!, a poodle also at 3 yrs old missed her family for the better part of 6 months. i think at 9 months it will be able to change over a bit faster. but every thing it thought it knew just changed ,a so she is sooo confused right now. if this new home is forever the new people just have to be oso kind and patient. it will come around . some time. try to have a routine it can count on no matter what and that will help a lot. good luck

Time for a story.

These two old boys were talking and one asked the other "What do you feed your dog?"

His friend replied "Dog food of course. Why what do you feed your dog?"

"Collard greens" he replied.

"Collard greens! Why my dog wouldn't eat collard greens"

" Mine wouldn't either, for about a month"

Moral of the story: When he gets hungry enough, he will eat.

He is probably just stressed from the new environment. It will help if the new owners give him the same food you did. Don't worry he'll be fine.

She's probably not yet used to her new home. Give her some time.. maybe about a week or so. I'm sure if she's not sick, she'll be able to adjust to her new family as long as she's given enough attention and love. <3

if the people don t mind maybe u could take her for a walk with them let the dog see that u think they are good people and the dog will catch that vibe also any situation that is unfamiliar to any being tends to be scary

Three words, force down throat. Joke, you should just wait for a while, i dont think that it will starve itself to death, she should start eating in time.
