The americans will not allow this reunion as it poses a threat to there super-power status. They have always had a policy of divide and rule. After all the west caused the division in the first place. However should these two countries unite the west the west will be hard pressed to match them. Inshalla this may happen sooner rather than later. These two countries dont require the west to survive and have proven it when the west sanctioned them for there nuclear programs.

Both will be viewing the other with suspicion. They will still find some excuse like other enemies against whom they need defence preparedness to retain their army. You cannot think of a government in the subcontinent with the army.
