Isn't this, in some sad way, how we live our daily lives?
How many people segregate themselves into racial groups without really thinking about it.
If you are white, do you shop in a predominately white section of town? Do you drive through a Hispanic, Latino, African American or Chinese section of town that has a store with the same merchandise to get to a store in a "white" part of town that may be out of your way?
Do you realize that no matter what year and what century we are in, we are all still racially divided in some way or another.
I think the show will be interesting to watch. I am tired of the people who say that it is going to undo all that has been done to bring us to where we are today. We, as a country, nation and world live our lives racially divided, so why should a TV show be condemned for showing that???
Also, it will be an individual who wins, not a group. Just like on past shows, there will be a point where the tribes will merge into one. This is probably where it will be the most interesting. Going from being in a group with "like people" to being in a mixed group may be the actual challenge. How will everyone react when they are out of their "comfort level"???

I never did like the show, but I think we have enough problems in the real world with things being racially divided that we don't need a t.v. show to do it, too. What is the point of it? No matter what group wins, I'll bet that the other groups will complain that it was rigged in some way. And as for the group that does win, will that give people of that race bragging rights to think that their race is smarter or more athletic than the others? I just don't think it's a good idea.

Yes, we should watch it first. I wonder if the people on the show knew how the tribes were gonna be divided before they signed up. I can't wait till it starts!
Sometimes people do controversial things just to get attention. The more people complain about the show, the more publicity it gets. I guess the people at Survivor knew exactly what they were doing.

I think so. I really think that it could actually help to show people that people are all different regardless of race. In other words, for someone who might think that one race is lazy, they would be able to see that one person in that tribe might be lazy, but there are also 5 others (or however many there are) in that tribe that are working hard. And in addition that there are lazy people in the tribe of their own race.

Wrong.
We should assume it will be offensive and be prepared to deal with the back lash of it.
The idea is to provoke our senses not have us shut them down.
That is just another side to racism, pretending that there is no problem until it slaps us in the face.

No. We shouldn't give the desparate idiots who thought of this format the time of day. Just wait for the comedy clips on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

I agree. It will be interesting and I'm sure the people participating will learn a lot about themselves in the process. Isn't that why you would want to be on the show, to learn about yourself?
