Nobody should get IVF on the NHS. Infertility is not a sickness, and it is unconscionable that taxpayers money should be wasted making unnecessary babies while genuinely ill people are being denied lifesaving drugs.

Why not adopt, if you're so desperate for children?

Don't quote me but I'm fairly sure you can. 'Infertility' is where a couple have been trying for a baby for at least 12 months whilst having regular intercourse at least twice a week - primary infertility is where neither couple have ever had a child or created a pregnancy, secondary infertility is where 1 partner has had a pregnancy but not within the current partnership. I don't think it matters that you have had a child before. Ask your GP to re-refer you to a Fertility specialist who will be able to advise you properly.

i am sure new laws have just came out about this and if you already have children from previous relationships (naturally) you are not entitled to any nhs treatment. can i also add that certain people who have answered this question want to stop and think what life is all about and if its not about creating babies and future generations, id like to know why they are bothering answering these questons. i have a family relative who is having trouble concieving and i have bn asked to be a surrogate, i didnt have to think twice. i have 2 happy healthy kids, and if i can help someone else, i will. gd luck

Get your IVF-invitro fertilization treatment in India .IVF treatment ,IUI,ICSI and Laparoscopic surgery is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges all types of medical treatment andsurgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.I have also read that they arrange financing for american and canadian patients as some of the surgery including ivf treatment is not covered by insurance.

They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor i personally believe that your IVF treatment can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The doctors are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.I recently also read about a chinese couple facilitated by forerunners healthcare were able to get their baby by IVF and a surrogate mother.

my cousin and her husband got their IVF treatment in India through the forerunners healthcare in India and is all praise for this company. She is a known case of PCOS.She is a very happy mother of a baby boy now. She just paid 2500 pounds for the full treatment for which she was quoted 8000 pounds in private setup in UK.I strongly recommend this company to you as they can be of great help to you.hope this helps

Seems like the only people who can't get it are those over 50 or overweight so I don't see why not.
