What is the difference a big piss or a drizzle they would still do it. I think just the opposite, if a politician is doing his or her job let them stay but then there are the others. These politicians who are not behaving as well need to know we are in charge and anyone in this category could face an immediate recall after 6 months in office. Every so many months certain individuals not doing as they promised could be recalled and involved in another election. besides these elections can be costly. My mother was connected to a certain party and when the election was called she got a job doing something involved in the election and got paid for it. This created an opportunity for political parties to pay a premium for someone party loyalty. I thought that this was unfair but didn't tell my mother this as I was only 5 at the time and besides the pay was a little nest egg she used to buy better birthday presents. No politics has become a business for the smart politician who not only gets paid too much but also gets to set his own pay scale and build up a healthy pension in the process. A true politician should be a man or woman taken from the retired persons of the country who volunteer for the job and have all expenses paid. They would be truly serving their country far from what the average fat politician today does.

The problem is, the shorter the interval, the larger the percentage of time is spent on re-election efforts.

The alternative is to not allow people to hold two consecutive terms, so that they can only campaign when they are not in office.

No, there needs to be a more educated and vigilant public. Have the memory of an elephant and the wisdom of an owl. We get the government that we deserve. If I asked you about the people you are voting for you couldn't tell me anything about them. Know all about the people you are voting for, and know all of their positions. Then you become an educated voter.

No. These are your elected officials. If you don't like the job they are doing, cast a vote for your favored individual.

No, then all they'd have time for is campaigning. I think our terms are pretty good.
