I don't know about you but for me:

1. The level of ignorance revealed in both the illiterate language and general content of most questions is appaling.

2. We are in trouble. That trouble stems from two primary sources:

a. Politicians who are more concerned with election and re-election then with leadership. This causes them to pay addition to nothing but the short term solution. Thus nobody is paying attention to the future. Think about it, maybe the last president to be forward thinking was Jimmy Carter when he authorized the Solar Energy Research Institute which Ronald Regan killed because it was "too expensive". If we had those two decades of research and development we might not have to suffer higher and higher gas prices.

b. The far right wing psuedo religous fanatic has learned to express themselves in politics. This lunatic fringe has gone from blowing up abortion clinics and the twin towers to running for political office. And winning of all things! Not THAT is scary. and depressing.

Well, we really have a lot to be depressed about. Six years ago, we were not in an undeclared war with troops in Iraq and Afghanistan' we were not threatening other Nations, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, South Korea. We were not letting the religious right dictate Constitutional changes to the White House. We had a surplus in stead of a National Debt of over 17 trillion dollars, most of it borrowed from China, then paid out to line the pockets of cronies and conglomerates.
Six years ago, our children were not dieing in Iraq , six years we had not bombed a country to rubble killing thousands of innocents.
Oh hell, the list could go on and on,
What a relief if we could just send the whole bunch of leaders into the Gulag at Guantanamo and start to clean up this mess.

Because people that are misinformed or just plain brainswashed state their ideologies as fact and people get riled up!
It's scary but don't worry, I hope (with crossed fingers) that the majority out there that's not on Y!A has more common sense.

Because it brings into sharp focus, even if only anecdotal, how many apathetic and clueless people are out there. And how many intelligent hate-filled closed-minded people are out there. And how few people actually understand the laws of their country.

And because it gives us little hope that we'll be able to turn things around and actually safe our countries before the lemmings drag everything over the cliffs.

But, I'm just guessing. I may be because you missed lunch today.

because it is. Very depressing I mean. And it's not so much the politicians, but the silly sheep who follow them, and the rest of us who seem unable to stop them.
