I have somewhat of a libertarian mentality but in most places, in most elections, voting libertarian (or any third party) is throwing your vote away. Most people will vote democrat or republican. The third party candidate doesn't have a chance in most elections. It's usually the better decision to vote for the best of the 2 top candidates. I also am a registered Republican so I can participate in the primary elections so there will hopefully be a socially moderate, fiscally conservative republican as one of the choices.
If there is a fiscally conservative running for office, I will vote for him (or her) regardless of whether there is an R or a D by the name.

i love it - but having lived long enough i know libertarians are same as all other politicians - in order to get into office most candidates sell their souls nowadays so unless we hold them accountable and strongly protest their poor decisions we only get more of the same
