Do you know any politicians of buddhist faith anywhere in the world? Of course there are a lot in many East and South-East Asian countries, but primarily I wonder about the Western world. Who? Where?

If there are any in the states then it is a well kept secret because I've never heard of any.

Buddhism is, by it's own nature, a pacifist faith. It's not likely that a true Buddhist would stand much of a chance of getting elected to a higher office in this country.

I've heard of several at the local political level, in various states.

But the general bias against non-Christian religions makes it difficult for anyone else to advance politically.

how about the dalai lama? he may be in exile,but is still the king of tibet.
