I find it kind of funny that you had to put "smart" in front of Republican! I know all Republicans are smart and love America! What bothers me is George Bush , aka Shrub, (little bush, for you Democrats out there), is considered a Republican. I can't think of a more Liberal spender with our money. I call it our money, cause he's just throwing away our hard earned tax money. I thought maybe I should explain since I'm sure some Democrats might read this and need some explanation! Some of them are kinda slow and the rest I think are from New Orleans!

George Bush Jr., W's nephew? Lot of "smart" Republican answers here.

Well, he's got politician written all over him. He's George III- It was King George III that the U.S. revolted against. Maybe he'll be the last president before the U.S. splits up (as it should).

I don't always agree with him, I'm not a Republican (Independent, thank you!), and he's not a Junior. But I do like Bush 43, and I'm not a complete moron.
Intelligence quotient is irrelevant, but I've scored between 120 and I think it was 145 (one time only, it was a fluke, I think) every time.
In high school, my teachers hated me as a student because I didn't even attempt to obtain good grades...but they all knew I was perfectly capable. I passed all tests without studying (and without showing up half the time), because I just read the textbook. When I DID turn in my work (the few times I felt like doing it) I always scored well.
Now I'm taking college classes online, trying to obtain at least an associates degree so that I can become a history teacher.
I'm no idiot.

George W. is a lot smarter than a lot of people here are. For example, there are people here who claim there were no WMD in Iraq. In fact, he actually used those nonexistent WMD on his own citizens, which is why he is on trial for his life. Not only dump, but a very short attention span.

I don't like Bush' arresting people with no charges filed. Iraq is his finest hour, even if his detractors are too dumb to understand what is going on.

However, you DEms are responsible for his re-election. You have no plan for the future, economically or terrorism, all you do is spout how stupid and evil he is. That is not how you get presidents elected.

Yes, I have great respect for the man.

For all his flaws, I believe President Bush to be a good man. A smart man. A man who stands behind his convictions and makes decisions not by going with what is popular but by going with what is just. There isn't a Democrat (other than maybe Lieberman) who you can say that about. Show me ONE Democrat that hasn't changed viewpoints to make him/herself more popular somewhere along their political career. You can't. I can show you a dozen Republicans that didn't care about being popular. They cared about the strength of the United States and they cared about the citizens. They did what needed to be done for the betterment of our country as a whole.

By the way, I was a registered Democrat for 20+ years prior to
voting for this President in our last election.

Psst... Railroad Dave... the last census was taken in 2000. Makes your statement not true. That didn't work.

After watching and listening to this current Bush administration, the question should be are there any smart Republicans at all?

I met GWB when he was Governor of Texas during a Small Business Conference being held in Austin, TX. He was actually very friendly and pretty straight forward. No bullshit type of guy.

Im not a republican, but nearly everyone else in my family is. A few of them feel pretty ashamed at who they voted for, and I have even seen bumper stickers in my home town that say "republican and pissed off!" with no "W" circles on them. Basically, conservative, or liberal, if youre smart, you question this guys ability to effectively run a nation.

I would think a "good" Republican would not. It depends what you mean by good. "Good" as in you put the country first or "good" as in you put your party first.

Whoa, that was smart, not good.
More beer!!
