Because our corporate mainstream media is owned by people who are the biggest supporters of Zionist Israel and their goal is to make people believe Muslims and Arabs are terrorists. Why would they show anything positive? Fair and balanced my ***.

Apathy and lack of real information.
the media showed arabs celebrating the liberation of Kuwait, from several years ago (the same footage) on the same day as 9/11 to incite hatred and help identify an enemy for the government ...sad sad.sad

The independence of print and TV media disappeared in the media consolidations of the 1990s. Today a handful of large corporations own the traditional media. The wealth of these corporations consists of broadcast licenses, which the companies hold at the government's discretion. Newspapers are run by corporate executives, whose eyes are on advertising revenue and who shun contentious reporting. The result is that the traditional media are essentially echo chambers for government propaganda.

The Internet and the foreign news media accessible through the Internet are the sources of alternative information. Many Americans have not leaned to use and to rely on the Internet for information.

Many Americans find the government's message much more reassuring than the actual facts. The government's message is: "America is virtuous. Virtuous America was attacked by evil terrorists. America is protecting itself by going to war and overthrowing regimes that sponsor or give shelter to terrorists, erecting in their place democracies loyal to America."

Sugarcoated propaganda doesn't present Americans with the emotional and mental stress associated with the hard facts.

In National Socialist Germany, by the time propaganda lost its grip, Germans were in the hands of a police state. It was too late to take corrective measures. Not even the military could correct the disastrous policies of the executive. In the end, Germany was destroyed. Does a similar fate await Americans? With recession about to hit its very possible .Americans don't understand their own denial

I expect the hysterical cries of "The Muslims are coming! The Muslims are coming!" Have you learned nothing about the world? Can you not see the obvious manipulations of the U.S.-U.K. intelligence community in these bogus "terror alerts"?

Gee, whadda ya know, it's time for a midterm election and George Bush has a 30% approval rating --- and here come the Muslim hordes because they "hate our freedoms"!

Grow up. The American government spends over $500 billion a year on defense, over $60 billion a year on intelligence. That's more than the rest of the world combined. That sound you hear is not a billion Muslims strapping bombs to their chests. That sound you hear is the American military-intelligence complex prodding the stupid citizens who pay for it. They've got plans for martial law in America, and you people are prattling on about Islamofascism.

The first 9/11 was an inside job. The next one -- probably in the next two months, just in time for the elections -- will also be made in America. Open your eyes and see the real enemy.

What a good question.

I like to believe that the media is no longer pursuing non-partisan, non-ideological journalistic reporting as the corporations that own the media are being "influenced" by political parties and the like.

That would be the best case scenario.

The worst case scenario is that sensationalism sells a lot more papers. Violence sells. Sex sells. World War Three sells.

The millions of God-fearing people all over the world who follow the path of moderation, do not.

The american people are still under the impression from the constant "The Al-QAIDA is responsible" speeches that they have completelyleft all reason behind...Yes some muslim terrorist were in those planes..Yes they had several targets beyond the towers...but its was the needed as lubricant to occupy territory....The media won't show that because the media is owned by those same companies needing the extra income thats being provided...thats the same reason why when you turn on the news you'll hear 23 hours 59 minutes of how mrs.johnsons cat was in trouble on the tree and 1 minute of how north korea is reported to have two Nuclear missles with long range capabilities...

I must admit, I saw nothing of this, but I would be pleasantly surprised if it is true. What I did see, a lot, on the media, were streets filled with Palestinians celebrating the fall of the twin towers. I have political differences with the government of Iran, but I feel compassion for the Iranians when an earthquake strikes, for example.

It's all part of the master plan for the world. The hate fuming on both sides of this conflict is pushing all of us towards a global nuclear war (I've actually heard Americans of authority advocating preemptive nuclear strikes on Iran...sound familiar?). The western press only reports stories that propagate that hate...as does the eastern press. The whole process has gone way beyond any of our control. I suggest we get right with God/Allah before the end sneaks up on us...only God/Allah can save this world now. Before that though all of the governments and armies of man will be destroyed.

I guess it was hard to see their "Vigils" through all the celebrations that were going on in those Middle eastern States. All the celebratory gunfire was a little distracting. Although you may not have seen all that on AL Jazeera

The corporate media doesn't tell you that 5 sayanim celebrated on top of a van in New Jersey and how a moving company magically disappeared in 24 hours.

Because the media needed new stories. Protesting makes more interesting news than cooperation.

When I everyone going to learn that the media has grown more powerful than they should be.

. Maybe because vigils aren't going to stop the terrorist . Maybe if the Middle Easterns actually did something positive it would make news.
