No, I do not believe that the number was as high as 6 million. Considering the number of Jews living in Europe at the time, I think this number is, as one already said somewhat " inflated". Equally impotant to talk about it that poets, artists, homosexuals, gypsies, Catholics, the mentally challenged, Anti-nazis, and people who tried to help Jews, could ALL be found the concentration camps, a huge number of them also being exterminated.
The bottom line is this: we must agree that one death is one too many. Even if the number were half that, or a hundredth of it, the point is that it should never have happened, and MUST not ever happen again.
Sadly, we cannot say that it has not. Bosnia, Rwanda...the list goes on.
Let's stop dwelling on numbers, just stop. Let's put our attention to completely obliterating any future genocide. Are you with me?

Yes I do believe a great many Jews died in a Nazi fueled Holocaust.
Exact figures R hard 2 come by, let alone prove.
But No 1 race lost the most.
Didn't know it was a competition!
Some of my family died in a concentration camp, because they were descended from Gypsies.
Jews want 2 flog this holocaust thing 4 all it's worth, it's a good cover 2 divert from their Bullying in the Middle East.
I hear they've commandeered a portion of Lebanon now.
Even taking tourists around acquired/stolen Orchards!

The Holocaust in WWII is as much an historical FACT, as you can get. What else can you doubt happened? Are you sure of your own birth for instance, or you just don't remember? Deny the veracity of the Holocaust and you'll be taking paranoid wings. However the President of a well known nation stated that very same proposition to his people repeatedly, and is taken seriously.
You cannot attempt to confuse war casualties, tragic as they are, with people murdered on an industrial scale for absolutely no reason.

Yes, other countries lost people during the war but some can be attributed to combat, others by starvation. During the Manchurian invasion by Japan, many thousands of Chinese died. The Jews have accepted their losses but others keep the issue open by constant reference to the holocaust. I was an internee of the Japanese and I was 4 years old when they took Hong Kong, I saw beheadings, torture, beatings and the constant hunger and I can't blame people for reminding others of the suffering. Perhaps it is to remind others that war is evil. Few people can appreciate the horror of a beheading of someone that was your friend...suddenly their life is gone. I am an American in China but few people know the horrors and starvation that China suffered.

Actually the number for the former Soviet Union was more like 20Million. The reason history focuses on the Jews is that their deaths were the result of a specific program to kill off all the Jews in Europe. This was also true of the Gypsies (Romany) of which about 1million were killed.

It really does not matter if people believe the actual figure. What happen under Hitler's regime was a horrible occurrence. He was an evil man who was attempting to exterminate all he did not see as "suitable" for this earth. He was a sicko. Even if it were 600, that was 600 too many as far as I am concerned. People should not be killed for their religious beliefs. Period.

they were not "died". they were murdered.by those who don't let the jew live.
and 6 milion out of 9 milion~ = 66% were murdered!!!
the russian were 190 milion in 1941
to lose 12 milions - it is about 6%.
it is horrible - but 6% is not 66%!!!

The Jews were killed in concentration camps unable to defend themselves. They were specifically targeted to be wiped off the Earth. Most of the other casualties were incurred in the fighting of battles. These two things are not comparable.
