Very loosely based on Ed Gein. He killed 2 people and made a mask or something with thier skin. Gross and sick but not enough to say that Chainsaw was based on a true story.
Here is the correct info...

The action picture, like the flicks Psycho, Deranged and The Silence of the Lambs, became into losely stimulated by Ed Gein. Gein did positioned on human epidermis, yet he acted on my own and did no longer use a chainsaw. whether the action picture's placing out might have one believe that the activities are actual, it is in simple terms a scare tactic, stated as the fake checklist technique, to frighten the objective industry. Libraries in Burkburnett, Texas and close by Wichita Falls usually get carry of requests for copies of newspaper articles on the topic of the fake actually activities.

Kind of based on Ed Gein but he had no family with him. He may have only killed two people, more was never proven. He was mainly a grave robber.
