being generous is a good thing. being a liberal is a good way to be. that's what i thought, given that there are many minds who just try to be fair, yet stay within the boundaries of what's fair to all. other wise give me your hungry, your weak, wouldn't make much sense. a conservative would say, they are not my problem.

Voltaire:
Using and manipulating language has always been a tool of the liberal (new left) agenda. Lets look at a couple of cases in point: homophobe: a word constructed to portray those who disagree with the liberal stance on homosexual rights in a weak and fearful manner. Another is the whole 'racist' word to make whites who don't agree with every radical nuance proposed by the far left be portrayed as mongrels to others who might not even realize it is going on.
Tolerant of the ideas and behaviors of others? Who championed thought-crime legislation ('hate crime'), meaning I can go to jail for what I say in public even if it is not inciting violence? Who is the quickest to castigate someone as 'racist' if they are white and use the term black instead of AA? Who are the ones that have instituted affirmative action, one of the most racist of all government programs?
Also if you're open to new ideas, Voltaire, from where do you get your information that all of one's behaviors are determined by their environment, as you alluded to in another question? If you're broad-minded then surely you have some evidence to support this view point. I am waiting to hear it so I can be as equally enlightened.

nicely as quickly as you have each and all of the information then you definitely won't be able to rather be ignorant. Ignorant in simple terms potential a loss of expertise. Having each and all of the counsel and then making a bad decision could show a loss of intelligence, which might usually be expressed with the help of labeling somebody an fool. people who're ignorant with the help of determination, with the help of choosing to not inspect the counsel from the two components, i could call absolutists. and you will discover them on the two ends of the political spectrum.

Interesting perspective, ah but I wish it were so.
This article is an interesting perspective that fits liberalism more today than the dictionary definition.

Lucky, that's the Conservatives view of a liberal agenda, which isn't the true liberal agenda. But the question was about LIBERAL! Not agenda.
So basically to be a liberal, you have to be open minded and willing to help out your fellow man. Sounds fabulous to me.

Here's the anti-liberal conservative agenda:
* Take away your personal freedoms
* It's the conservative way or the highway
* If you are not with us conservatives, you are against us, and that makes you an enemy
* We will tell you what to do, say, think, and there is nothing you can do about it
* We will twist and misuse the words of "God" to make our way the right way
* Rule one: you do as we say.
Rule Two: if you have any questions about what you can or can not do, refer yourself to Rule One.
How about that you Neocon Nazis out there!

Liberalism is childlike idealism taken to an absurd extreme, to the detriment of the entire human race.
