The american dream is to get so FILTHY RICH that you loose all respect for humanity :D

My american dream is the same as my ancestors, that in our country through hard work and determination I will have a better life than those before me. It is a capitalist system and has been very effective since the days of Plymouth Rock, which is where capitalism started in our country. You see those first people tried for two seasons to develop a socialist system, you know the one "from each according to his ability and to each according to his needs", well they almost starved to death and the next year the colony went purely capitalism. A glorious day indeed.

So I guess my answer is where did you come up with all this stuff about oppressors and oppression? I would consider oppression a state run by mullahs, a state that sends children into crowded restaurants with bombs strapped on them, and other types of atrocities.

Is this what you meant?

The 'American dream' is the advertisement we pitch for the sake of self righteousness. When you're here anyone who complains about not achieving it can simply be informed the American Reality:
The constitution guarantees that if you have the money you can get an unfair trial in your favor. Every law book in America is a specially formatted series of laws and loopholes conjoined to form one collective maze of a Swiss-cheese bureaucracy. If you have the money or influence you can get away with murder thanks to the way our law books are set-up. Now if you don't have money, you are guaranteed to an unfair trial that will turn out against you even if you are acquitted.

It also guarantees you the right to say anything you want as long as it doesn't interfere with government. You can talk out against government all you want they don't care as long as you don't have substantial proof of what yer saying. They are generally secretive because they are corrupt, but they rely on plausible deniability to keep the people at bay. Which is why when you hack into a file, or take some form of surveillance of a classified area you have committed treason, because once it is out there plausible deniablility is lost. It is also why CIA officers and agents are sworn to secrecy, if you see it you are a liability but someone needs to carry out the dirty deeds.

No, the American dream is to have a nice house in the suburbs with a picket fence, a pool in the back yard, a beautiful wife in a dress and apron with a hot apple pie cooling on the stove. Your kids ride their bikes home from school and of course have already finished their homework so go right to throwing a baseball back and forth. Everyone watches one TV show together in the evening and the kids go to bed with no trouble. The grown up do the thing that grownups like to do and lovingly fall asleep on their king sized bed. The next day everything proceeds as usual, wife goes to her PTA meeting and the husband goes to work at the insurance company, kids learn fascinating things in school and on Sunday everyone goes to church, enjoys coffee hour, goes out for brunch and then depending on what time of the year it is dad takes the boys outside to throw a football or snowballs while mom and the girls make some delicious food for dinner with a proven successful recipe. Everyone discusses their week at the dinner table and comes up with plans for the next week too. Later everyone watches the news and amazingly it's not alarmist propaganda designed to upset everyone. The news is factual and interesting, they learn about next years cars coming out, what the mayor did, the new law passed and how it should benefit society, the new park that opened and how people are rebuilding successfully from the hurricane. Next weekend dad takes the oldest boy hunting and teaches him how to clean a deer. Mom is very proud of her men when they return home and fill the freezer with venison. Of course there is a nice hot apple pie waiting for them too.

Neither. It is for prosperity and a democratic world.
Problem is, this creates jealousy from countries that don't have that, nor value that. So we're labeled 'oppressors'. They can spin it any way they want, and some liberal moron will sympathize with them rather than feel any ounce of loyalty for his own country, where so many died to give him the right to that prosperity and democracy.

Dd would you be happy if the US just took back all their toys & stayed within their borders? The US consumption tows the rest of the worlds economy. If the individuals in the US didn't buy the product made in the sweat shops that population would be even poorer. Are all of the factories US owned? I doubt it. Many in the US would like those jobs to be returned.

What have you done to better the planet?

hmmm no
the American Dream is that anyone should be able to do whatever they want, regardless of where they came from

Most people take this businesswise, are you implying that rich or moderately successful people are oppressors? I disagree.
