Well, you can be sure that he prays, like many of us, but he probably doesn't get any direct answers that way. He also was intelligent enough to visit the Vatican and talk privately with Pope John Paul II. John Paul was an old man with a lot of medical problems, but never a fool, nor are the world-wide diplomatic and intelligence sources at the Vatican. And the President has talked extensively with leaders of other faiths around the world.

The president only talk about how praying is "like" talking to god. I've been careful to listen to his exact phrasology and he clearly doesn't think that god talks back with him. He just thinks that he gets strength and confidence from praying. I think that's a good thing and not a threat to any of us non-religious types. We have to remember that President Bush makes clear distinctions between what's good for him and thinking that's good for everyone. Even if he didn't he's not in a position of authority enough to make his view into a threat to us.

It gets worse. Bush think God talks to him . . .

It's not a burning bush, it's clearing brush. But it comes to the same thing.

Praying is talking to God, so yes he does that. The question is: does he believe God talks back to him? I doubt it. But he thinks that he became President for a reason and that God wanted him to be President. This is what he told Bob Woodward as reported in Woodward's book "Plan of Attack"

Well, GW seems to think that he has had conversations with Jesus and that God had told him to go to war in Iraq. Pretty shaky, IMHO.

But, he is on meds, self induced....booze.

I believe in the power of prayer and don't think faith is a delusion, but I have to say: I think when God sees Bush on his caller-ID he doesn't answer the phone !

Prayer and meditation are a Major part of most societies. It is only the little, scared minds that cannot accept the concept of God, as they think they are so screwed up that God couldn't even fix them. Egocentric little snots, they are.
