I hate Israel for the horrible things it does, but i do not hate Jews. Had Israel been a Hindu state or Christian state I would hate it just as much. Hateing Israel is NOT anti-Semetic.Comments?

I agree with you 100%. I have nothing against the jewish people. I have issues with the Israeli government and its policies. I am not anti-semetic, I don't hate jews, but I do hate the Israeli government.

#1: What are these "horrible things" Israel does? If you mean trying to stop the Hezbollah terrorists from completing their mission ("exterminate Israel", as quoted by the Hezbollah leader) then they are guilty of that. What would you do if Al Qaeda attacked America and we retaliated? Would you hate the "horrible things" America does?

#2: The hating Israel is anti-semetic theory is a generality. Although there are many people who hate both jews and Israel, there are SOME like you who only hate Israel.

#3: Let me take a page out of Denis Miller's comedy act and say this: The conflict in the Mideast is simple. Let's say the arabs have land the size of a football field. However, in the center of the entire field, there is a pack of matches which is Israel. The hostile Arab nations attack the pack of matches saying they will be happy if they get half of the pack.
Is there something wrong with the way that sounds? Yea, that's because there is. No matter how much land Israel gives over, the terrorists and hostile nations will always want 1 thing: the extermination of Israel AND its inhabitants.

Why do you think EVERYONE thinks that someone who hates Israel is anti-Semetic? I love Israel as a country. I've always wanted to go there. I stay away from hating/loving governments because they change so quickly.
Though I can't answer your question because everyone's ideas are different, I can completely agree unless one hates Israel because it was founded for the Jews. I do find that anti-Semetic.

The land of "Israel" should be split in half. The northern half would be Palestine and the southern half Israel.
The new Israel and new Palestine completely disarmed, by force if needed.

In the middle occupying Jerusalem would be the new U.N. HQ with a corridor that divides these lands from the Mediterranean to the Red Sea. Stationed there should be 200,000 man Rapid Reaction Force capable of delivering a serious smack down to ANYONE in the region that acts out of line.

They are two different things, however it appears there is a large number of the first that is also the second. Of course 100% of the second also hates Israel.

When there is so high a correlation it is likely people will equate the two.

Just keep pointing out that you aren't anti-jew when you rag on Israel.

Often people say 'hate' when what they mean is 'i am irritated at', but that's not real hate. It is sad what's going on with Israel and the Middle East. People gotta get into the 21st century and stop fighting. There is so much more we could do. End Tribal Thinking, Stop Religious Righteousness, enough is enough

Though I'm a supporter of Israel, what you say is technically true. It's just that there are so many people that hate the Jews themselves that it's unusual to find someone who is only opposed to their government.

Well said. I have to clarify my discontent with Israel by saying that I don't hate Jews, althought they are in charge of Israel. If Israel was controlled by Christians, I would feel the same about those in that country as well. People are too thick-headed nowadays especially the republicans...

Good to see you are indiscriminate in your Hate.
Do you hate others that are doing as badly? What does hate mean in your context? Like any other football team than yours? I mean how can you hate a whole nation without flippancy or at the worst Racism? Hate others as you hate yourself! I mean choosing sides is what makes us all part of the problem. If America had rules against the way the media behaved do you think 911 would have occurred? Media is all about ooohhhh! lets hate those ones now. I think it is time for humanity to grow up or blow up!

It's called a generalization. Hating one small group is equivalent in the mind to hating everyone that may be similar.

Just like hating Arab terrorists gets generalized to blaming the other 1.195 billion Muslims who are not terrorists.

Or as many of our more vocal posters seem to say, just like thinking the radical fringe found on zombietime is actually representative of the 99.98% of liberals who also think radicals are nuts.

It's a generalization, and yet another one that appears to have infected the population with the mental disease called bigotry.
