You can't get POP email from Yahoo unless:
1) pay for it
or
2) you are a Yahoo DSL or Verizon Yahoo customer
or
3) use Ypops! a free program that lets you access Yahoo! email via POP3
Since you said Firefox in your post, my guess is you are trying to configure Thunderbird?
If so, here is a link to get Ypops! and instructions on how to install it in Thunderbird:

If you are in situation 1 or 2 above, go to the member help section and Yahoo will provide you with the settings.

You don't have a SMTP or POP server, Yahoo does. SMTP stands for Simple Mail Transfer Protocol. It is the server your email client connects to to send email. The POP server (Post Office Protocol) is the server your email client connects to to get your email.
The POP service on Yahoo is a paid subscription service. After you subscribe, they will give you the server addresses you need to put in your email client.
p.s. Yahoo has not stopped supporting POP service. I have been using it for the past two years and just got my renewal notice the other day.

You have to be signed up for the paid email from Yahoo. If you are, contact them and they can tell you the servers you need to set. Also, you can't use FireFox for email, use Thunderbird.
